Scripture Union Daily Guide 1st February 2025 Outline
John the Baptist preaches a new beginning. He had a radical message. We must not continue living the same way and expect different results. Note the response to his message Matthew 3:7,15-16). Why? Christ’s great love and saving grace brings into God’s Kingdom family all kinds of people, including those who we least expect will look for changed lives and new beginnings (Matthew 3:7-10). We must all pursue lifestyles of godliness in keeping with repentance and fruitfulness (Matthew 3:8-10).
John announces Jesus and His coming public ministry (Matthew 3:11-12). Note his humility in relation to Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:11; see also John 3:27-31). He was such a powerful servant of God and rightly in God’s Kingdom service, he supremely projected Jesus Christ (see John 1:29; John 3:27-31). Is Jesus Christ held supreme and central in all things in your church and in your personal life and ministry? Sadly, some Pastors and Church leaders make themselves “central” in Church life. Others make money the “central” thing in Church life, pushing Jesus, the Head of the Church, to the sides or periphery.
The baptism of Jesus is unique – it shows His perfect obedience in which He fulfils all righteousness. At His baptism, God the Father acknowledges Him as His beloved son (Matthew 3:17).
And So:
Reach out to someone today with the gospel message.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with: Psalms 22:19
Closing Prayer: Lord, please grant me the grace to be focused on what you want me to do.
Pray for Christian ministries and organizations, that they will continue to fulfil the divine mandate for which they have been established…
Pray for boldness to continue to speak and stand for the truth. Pray against every form of pollution that is weakening the power of god in the body of Christ.

* His goodness to you, your family, the Ministry, the Church , the Nation and everyone around you.
PRAY FOR:
* Faith to keep trusting and following God and His Word; and grace to avoid doing anything that will make God angry. • God’s visitation, intervention and wonders in your life, family, brethren and the nation.
PRAY AGAINST:
* Unbelief, ignorance, spiritual blindness that robs us of the privileges God has for us.
